Applying to hire public open spaces for events

Welcome to the application site for the use of Southwark Council’s public open spaces. Before you begin an application, please read through the advice on our website at www.southwark.gov.uk/planninganevent , in particular Southwark's Outdoor Events Policy with which all events in the borough are expected to comply. You should also contact the Events team to check that the space you wish to use is available across your desired dates.

If this is your first time making an application you will need to register to use the site prior to beginning your application.

Application fees

There are three levels of application fee:

  • Applications for commercial events will cost £259.30 + VAT
  • Applications for non-profit events will cost £90.70 + VAT
  • Applications from constituted Friends of Parks groups, council funded events and Southwark Council departments, including schools, will cost £45.35 + VAT

Payment must be made online in order to successfully submit your application. If you cannot make payment at the time of submission, we will not receive your application.
Please note that all application fees are non-refundable, so we strongly advise applicants to first check:

  • Whether your event proposals are feasible for the location you are requesting
