Welcome to Sandwell EventApp

Sandwell Metropolitan Borough Council (SMBC) welcomes opportunities for partner organisations and local community groups to host events across the borough. To ensure the safety of all persons and to ensure events are well organised and managed appropriately, the council needs to receive a formal application form for the event along with the safety documentation listed below and discuss each event with Sandwell’s Safety Advisory Group (SAG). 
 
The role of SAG is to provide advice to individuals and organisations planning a public event. The advice is in addition to any legal requirements and government guidance. The recommendations given by SAG are advisory only* and it is for the event organiser to take such steps that are necessary to ensure an event is undertaken safely. SAG nor any of its constituent members or their respective organisations accept any liability for the safety of events planned with the assistance of this document. 
 
(*Events taking place on SMBC owned land or funded (partially or in full) by SMBC must implement all recommendations given by SAG).
 
This application form is to be filled in by organisations or individuals planning an event in Sandwell, regardless of the size of the event, and submitted no less than 8 weeks before the event.  Upon submitting an application, you will need to agree to the Terms and Conditions for the hire of sites and events taking place within SMBC’s borders.
 
To help you in completing the application form please read ‘A Guide to Organising Events in Sandwell’.  This will explain your responsibilities in using spaces in Sandwell for events. It is important that you understand your responsibilities as an event organiser before submitting the application. Upon receipt of your application, provided all relevant information has been received, a provisional booking will be made. SAG will then be consulted about your event and may have further questions or make recommendations to the council on whether your event should be given council approval. Your event, with these recommendations, will be considered by the council as land owner and you will be advised on whether the event has been formally approved. You will then be sent an invoice for the hire of the land and payment will be required within 28 days.
